July 9 - Defend Our Bodies from Toxic Companies Event

The average woman uses 12 different beauty products every day — do you know if what you're putting on your body is safe?

I'm sure tired of finding out that giant companies are getting rich off poisoning our bodies!

I started working with Beautycounter because their education and advocacy work opened my eyes to a whole new level of outrageous and unnecessary corporate poisoning practices that our government does nothing to protect us from. While the federal government has not passed a major law governing the cosmetics industry since 1938, Beautycounter has helped pass public safety protection laws in several states, and is fighting to get Congress to update our federal protections.

Beautycounter has over 1800 ingredients on our Never List (meaning we never ever use them), because we know they are unsafe for humans and/or the planet. Beautycounter's safety and transparency standards are second to none in the beauty industry.

This matters because it seems like every time we turn there's new information that companies are cutting corners, or worse -- knowingly putting out products that are known to cause harm.

For example, in the last month alone we've found out that a number of common sunscreen products have dangerous levels of cancer-causing benzene in them and a huge number of cosmetics have dangerous levels of PFAS, or forever chemicals -- toxins that once they enter our bodies, can never been eliminated.

And yet so far we see no product recalls from the FDA, no regulation to require companies to test their products or share the results with the public, and no legislation to protect us against the mainstream personal care industry that is potentially poisoning us every time we wash our hair, apply sunscreen, spritz the hand sanitizer, put on our deodorant, etc. etc. Cancer, autoimmune disease, and infertility are on the rise and we know chemical exposure is a huge reason.

If you'd like to learn how to identify whether the products you use are safe (without having to memorize every toxic chemical compound out there), what we are doing to fight for oversight and elimination of these toxins, and try Beautycounter for yourself, please RSVP!

How it Works:

Once you RSVP I'll send you a link to let me know your skin type and any skin issues you're struggling with. I'll mail you a facial kit in advance and then on July 9 we'll hop on Zoom and I'll share resources for how you can get involved in the movement for safer beauty + enjoy a facial night with others who are ready to fight back against toxic corporations.

Absolutely no purchase necessary, but if you're interested in Beautycounter I'm happy to provide advice to help you choose products that will work well for your skin and your budget. Either way, you'll walk away with resources to avoid harmful chemicals in your personal products going forward and information to advocate for policy change -- and bonus, you'll wake up with a nice soft glow on your face!
